Accessibility

"The power of the web is in its universality. Access by everyone regardless of disability is an essential aspect."
Sir Tim Berners Lee, director of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C)

At AXA Investment Managers (AXA IM) we are committed to providing our website visitors with Accessible websites which are in compliance with the A level of Simple international standards of accessibility WCAG 2.0.

Our Accessibility Policy

Our websites are Accessible. This means that any Internet user can access web content without difficulty, including handicapped users who require special web browsers or technical aids to access web content.

The AXA IM range of sites have content which is compatible with navigation tools such as text-to-speech and Braille displays, which are often used by blind website visitors. Visually impaired users can adjust the site display (text size etc) to meet their needs, and users who have lost the use of their hands can navigate our websites without a mouse.

Browser Compatibility

Our websites are compatible with all recent browsers supporting HTML 4.01 and CSS 2, and respect the XHTML and CSS vocabulary and grammar recommended by the W3C.

Consequently our websites work optimally with browsers of recent-generation browser, but still remain accessible to visitors who use older browsers.

Use of the following browsers is recommended to view our websites optimally:

  • Windows : Internet Explorer 8, Mozilla Firefox 5, Google Chrome 12, Opera
  • Mac OS : Opera, Safari, Mozilla Firefox
  • Linux : Mozilla Firefox, Opera

Principles of Browsing

The AXA IM range of websites have the following navigation principles:

  • The AXA IM logo allows you to return to the homepage from anywhere in the site.
  • The breadcrumb trail under the horizontal menu clearly identifies your navigation path within the website, allowing you to easily return to previous levels of browsing.
  • The on-site search bar, which is present on every page, allows you to search the entire website. The search results are displayed in tabs using the following sub-categories: web content, funds and documents.  This is so that you can find the most relevant piece of content as quickly and easily as possible.
  • Priority links are situated at the bottom of every page in the footer: this includes important information, sitemap, help, and accessibility.
  • The sitemap allows and the website visitor to view all pages, including sub-sections, of the site. The sitemap is available at the bottom of every page within the priority links area.
  • Browsing with keyboard: use the arrow keys to scroll up and down the pages of the website, the tabulation key to navigate from link to link, and the Enter/Return key to follow an active link.

Size of Characters

Small fonts can be hard to read for certain users. Our websites allows the website visitor to easily enlarge or reduce the size of the text using the A+ and A- , which you will find below the search bar on each page of the site. If you have a mouse which has a wheel, most browsers also allow users to adjust the size of the text in the following way:

  • Windows: "Ctrl" + turn wheel
  • Mac: "apple" + turn wheel

Downloads

Many documents available to download on our websites are PDF documents. In order to read these documents, you can download Acrobat Reader or you can transform them into classic HTML using the Adobe online conversion engine: just copy the URL of the document and paste it in the required field using the Adobe tool.

Use of Flash

In order to see the Flash content on our websites, you will need to install the Adobe-Macromedia Flash plugin.

For users of screen readers, browsing without the plugin is recommended. You can deactivate Flash on Internet Explorer as follows:

  • Go to the "Tools" menu > "Internet Options"
  • Select the tab "Programmes", then go "Run the complementary modules"
  • In the list, choose "Shockwave Flash Object" and deactivate it
